The story behind The Cherish Collective

The Cherish Collective began long before it had a name.

It began in the quiet spaces between generations. In the lives of women who built, rebuilt and created beauty where none seemed possible.

My grandmother was a woman who stitched belonging into existence. My mother carried the strength to restore what had been broken.

Their resilience shaped the way I see the world, teaching me that beauty is often born not from ease, but from endurance.

For more than 15 years, the idea for The Cherish Collective lived quietly in the background of my life. It was a vision that took time to mature: shaped by experience, reflection and the growing desire to create something meaningful and lasting.

In 2026, that vision finally found its moment.

This year holds a rare and meaningful convergence of generations. My daughter stepped into adulthood at 21, while my mother celebrates 77 years of resilience, strength and quiet legacy.

Somewhere between those two milestones, I realised that what I wanted to create was not simply a collection of beautiful objects, but a bridge: something that honours where we come from while making space for what comes next.

The Emergence Collection is the first expression of that vision and marks the first release from The Cherish Collective.

Each piece is crafted from reclaimed materials and transformed into limited-edition heirloom desk pieces designed to be treasured for decades. Every item is customised and permanently retired once the edition sells out.

The collection is inspired by the protea. A flower that grows in difficult terrain and often regenerates after fire. It reminds us that resilience and renewal are often intertwined.

The Cherish Collective also carries a deeper purpose. 20% of profits support women rebuilding their lives, with a long-term goal of creating opportunities through handcrafted production.

This work honours women rewriting their stories while recognising the people who stand beside them along the way: those who encourage, support and hold space for dreams to take root.

The Emergence Collection launched on 28 April 2026, in celebration of 77 years of resilience embodied in my mother's life.

It is a tribute to lineage, to endurance and to the beauty that emerges when something once discarded is given new life.

Because what we create, and what we choose to preserve, becomes part of the legacy we leave behind.
